A Crummy Christmas (in red & white)

01.23.17

“The word gave life to everything that was created, & His life brought light to everyone.”
John 1:4

This year, I had the joy of being able to not only decorate my own home for Christmas… but also help decorate my brother & sister-in-law’s new home. Jessica wanted a red and white tree, and neutrals throughout the rest of the home. I had SO much fun decorating this tree, and working on a project that involved lots of COLOR! Here’s a little mini holiday home tour of their first Christmas in their new house. If you love this look just as much as we did, shop the items at the bottom of the post!

Is that tree not one of the “happiest” trees you’ve ever seen?
If only Christmas could be year round. At least we have these pictures to look at and bring a smile to our face until next year…

xoxo,
Katherine

  1. Just beautiful! How blessed you all are to be “neighbors” and best of friends!! And to have your mama and daddy near by! What a dream! Thank you for sharing your decorating ideas and may you continue to bless and guide those little ones!

    Love and blessings!

  2. My sweet beloved Katherine,
Your sense of beauty and harmony is so evident in the magnificent environment you have created.
I trust this creative gift will balance your challenging teaching assignment.
God has given you a very special eye for beauty and harmony.
    Always with love,
Your Omi soon to be in Los Gatos, California

  3. Katherine, I want to get rid of my old, dust collecting ficus tree in our master bedroom. Do you have a suggestion of something to replace it with? Thank you!!

    1. Hi Paula! I absolutely love my fiddle leaf fig. It is real, and very easy to maintain! I got mine at Plants for All Seasons!

  4. I absolutely love this dining room! We are getting ready to move into our new home and have the same color scheme we are aiming for. Do you know where the side table and the beautiful quote is from? I’d love to have those!!

    1. Hi Molly! So sorry I’m just now getting back to you. The side table is from Ballard Designs and the quote is from a company called House of Belonging! You can find them on Etsy 🙂
